This was a delightful project to work on, a complete renovation of a three-storey home.
My client wished for a warm and classic style that was practical for her busy family. To achieve the feel of a modern classic home, we chose a neutral colour palette with subtle pops of colour. White, cream, beige, and grey were used as a backdrop, allowing classic furnishings and architectural details to stand out. To furnish the home, we chose classic furniture updated with modern fabrics and materials to give them a fresh, contemporary twist.
We could not forget to include architectural details in this modern home, such as wall panels, wainscoting, and coffered ceilings in the kitchen and sitting room, as we understand these elements add grandeur to the space.
Balance and symmetry were key principles in this modern classic design; hence, the furniture layout was arranged in pairs or mirror images to create a sense of order and visual harmony, with elegant and statement lighting fixtures, such as crystal chandeliers, however, in modern interpretations were used to enhance the overall aesthetic of the space.
High-quality materials like marble, granite, and hardwood contributed to the luxurious and timeless feel of the design, along with artwork, sculptures, and decorative items displayed in a way that added a cultural sense to the space, however clutter was minimized, and each element was carefully curated to maintain a sense of simplicity and elegance.
Likewise, the open floor plan incorporated a sense of airiness to create a contemporary feel within a classic framework. During the renovation, we have also integrated modern technology with smart home features and modern audio-visual systems that seamlessly coexist with classic aesthetics.

Decorating a home in midcentury and traditional English style.
This home interior design worked so well in partnership with my client, who loved to be involved in all project stages.
My client required an eclectic and warm feel to her home, and the brief was to keep the existing valuable pieces of furniture and personal art but enhance them with an interior design touch. I found incredible midcentury, traditional English and modern Italian furniture pipiecesich were my inspiration and starting point.
Initially, it was a challenge to connect the different styles throughout the house and make them work as one, which I did in the end! The key was a redistribution of furniture that was grouped per syle in certain parts of the house. Also addition of new furniture, for example, two custom-made fringed stools in the Victorian style in the living room with super modern Italian Porada furniture. Also, I added high-quality wall covering in neutral tones and exclusive home accessories to mix with the existing art.
In the living room, I designed a bespoke TV Media Wall, resulting in better use of the space and causing significant visual impact. Also in other parts of the house further joinery was designed to replace outdated cabinet doors and inefficient storage.
I am delighted with the results, hence the design came together beautifully in the end . Despite differents styles from different eras of furniture and the house itself constructed in the 30's they are now connected and living harmoniously. Plus the new lighting plan, bold colours in specific parts of the house allied with neutral tones proportioned relaxation, modernity and beauty.

This was a renovation of my period home with an addition of an extension accommodating a dining area, a kitchen and a snug.
I wished to create a practical and happy home, unique and colourful, but not overly bold and keeping it spacious.
We started by creating mood boards blending different colours, patterns, textures, and pieces of my own furniture and decor to express my taste and personality as I am a fan of mixing different styles, eras, and cultural influences.
We worked by juxtaposing modern and vintage items combining traditional and contemporary elements to a high degree of personal expression including items with sentimental value and pieces collected from my travels. We were spoiled for choice with many statement pieces, but the challenge was to balance and harmonize them for a cohesive look.
We also incorporated a variety of textures and showcased a mix of art and decor items belonging to my art collection, but also flexible allowing my home to evolve over time as new pieces were to be added to adapt the space. We also acquired new modern furniture to give the right balance and keep the decor contemporary.
To keep the spaces relaxed and airy we avoided overcrowding them with too many items at the same time and therefore introduced some cohesive elements, such as a dominant colour scheme to unify our design concept.
As with any eclectic interior design style an eclectic home requires a thoughtful and curated approach, it's not about randomly throwing together a mishmash of items but rather creating a harmonious and visually interesting space that reflects personality and style and I am glad I have achieved this.
